Large Scale Bronze Models
These large-scale models are vacuum cast in bronze, an exceptionally complex procedure involving 3d modelling and casting of the tiniest of details, each of which are cast separately and later welded together to create the whole. With the yachts I make these models a minimum of 100cm long but preferably 140 cm so as not to have to compromise on detail. The bases I like to make in semi-precious stone
This unique model of a J-class yacht stands a full 165cm tall. The yacht is all in bronze, the ensign in enamelled copper and the base in Lapis Lazuli (for the sea) and hand-carved Rock Crystal (for the white water)
